Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO is basically the work-around of the search engine "robots" to do searches on each page in the World Wide Web. They do not see as how we human see it. Let me break it down to few examples so you may see the differences of having a good SEO and bad SEO:

The image that you see below is a well optimized SEO friendly website where on the left side is how we human see it. All the design colors and textures are applied. While on the other hand, on the right side of the image, that is how robot search engines will see. All they see are bunch of texts.

In comparison with the image above, the one below this is a bad SEO optimized website where the left side is all good nice and sleek but the robot search engine can't even detect any of the inputs created in the site.

So how does this benefits you? Imagine your blog is about ice-cream and you are promoting varieties of flavors in your blog having the name of each flavors unique that nobody ever used before, for the sake of this argument one of it will be "Chocolate Starfish Cyclone". At the same time somebody out there somewhere is having a major cravings on deserts and has entered "chocolate ice cream" in any search engine (i.e: google, bing, yahoo and whatnot..). Having your blog not SEO friendly will certainly tear down this person's heart not to be able to find your ultimate surprise if he/she knows that it exists. Instead, that person found another blog that promotes mediocre common ice-cream that is not as fantastic as yours. Poor thing..

Backlinks

Backlinks enable you to keep track of other pages on the web that link to your posts. For instance, suppose Syarifah writes a blog entry that Khairul finds interesting. Khairul then goes to his own blog and writes a post of his own about it, linking back to Syarifah's original post.

Now Syarifah's post will automatically show that Khairul has linked to it, and it will provide a short snippet of his text and a link to his post. What it all works out to is a way of expanding the comment feature such that related discussions on other sites can be included along with the regular comments on a post.

Favicon

A favicon is what you see on the browser's tab image. For instance, the one that you see on this site has the blogger icon as a favicon . If you visit our Demo blogspot site, you'll notice it has a different image on the browser's tab .
